Spark by Hilton Roanoke Airport

I was in town for a family emergency and stayed for a night. Very clean room. Comfortable beds. The staff was very friendly. Breakfast was good. No "hot" food but has cereal, bagels, muffins, yogurt, boiled eggs, juice and coffee. While we were eating, the employee brought out fresh bananas and made sure everyone who was already eating knew. Check in and check out we very easy. Next time I am traveling, I will definitely look for a Spark by Hilton hotel!

We stayed at this hotel from January 24th to February 3rd to ride out the winter storm after being snowed out of our home. From start to finish, the staff made a difficult situation much easier. James was courteous and accommodating, Aaliyah welcomed us every day with a cheerful smile, and Ruth was always kind and informative. Danita went above and beyond—she helped with so many little requests that really made a difference during our stay and even caught an accidental overbooking to make sure it was handled right away. The housekeeping team also deserves a big thank-you for their extra care and attention throughout our stay. The hotel was safe, clean, and friendly, and we’re truly grateful for the wonderful staff who made us feel at home during the storm.

Clean, spacious room. Friendly front desk at check in. Breakfast stayed well stocked and dining room clean. Close to airport but did not hear planes or traffic from 581. Kind of isolated, no restaurants in walking distance. Enjoyed our stay!

Clean rooms, newer hotel. I was disappointed there was no exercise room but it is what it is. The area is starting to look a bit run down. I noticed 2 gas stations that were out of business nearby and another service station that looks like it should be shut down. It’s close to highway 81 which is convenient. The hotel is decent but the area is in need of a facelift.

I’m leaving a 4 star ⭐ review only because there is NOT a full breakfast and no coffee pot in the room and the bathtub was very small (I’m a small 5’4 woman. I was impressed with the very comfortable bed the full lotion-shampoo-conditioner-shower gel. The smiling friendly staff. They pipe in an elevate scent of a baby powder Barbie scent is the best way to describe it. Would suggest a minty air fresh scent. Or something more general liked.

Stayed here after another local hotel booted me for overbooking. For the price, this hotel is fantastic. It’s $85-115 (we paid $109/night during a major conference in town). As of mid-June, the construction is done. Upsides: -In a quiet area but close to all the things (restaurants, interstate, Burgland Center, etc) -Clean rooms with lots of modular storage that can be wiped clean -Beds were reasonably comfortable -Shower water pressure was fine -Internet was fine; both cellular and hotel WiFi Downsides: -Elevator sucks. Way too slow and small. -The parking did fill up. We always found a spot but it was often far away. Lots of sports teams with buses that took up many spots on all of our nights there. -Low amenities - no pool, breakfast was appreciated but very basic, no microwaves or even a clock in the room? -The AC never got down to the temp we wanted. It wasn’t terribly uncomfortable, but it definitely seemed old and not in peak performance. If you want a hotel with amenities, this probably isn’t it. If you’re looking for somewhere to sleep at a great price for hotels, this was a good experience! Would return.

My overall experience was nice. The check-in service went well. But on the October 4, 2025 around 1:30 I went to purchase some snacks at the front desk. And your attendant was rude. First off, no greeting. It would be nice to be greeted as a human being. Something as small as Hello. Then it would be nice to be thanked for spending my hard-earned money. Then I asked for a manager to be told there wasn't one available, and was told rudely that there was a card in the holder. There may be some training needed on how to treat people who are paying to stay in this place. Everything else was nice, but I don't appreciate the treatment.

BEWARE THEY CHARGE FOR PARKING EVEN THOUGH THE WEBSITE SAYS IT IS FREE as of November 2025. Stayed here for 7 nights over 2 different weeks. Even though their website says complimentary parking, they have a sign up that says they charge for parking. I managed to get it removed the first trip at check in. The second trip I mentioned it again to the lady that checked me in. She acknowledged it but when I reviewed the bill after I got home, it was still there. I didn't bother to try to get it removed but charging for parking when you say it is free is disingenuous. Not to mention that I could park in the strip mall next door without a charge. Plus, the hotel never suffered any parking shortage. Kind of annoying. Overall, it is a good value for the price. Just be aware they charge for parking, $5 per night. If they website still shows it is free parking, make sure they remove it. I feel like that is just a profit grab for the operator.
